In 2007, our Firm was the first to register and lead an arbitration under the Free Trade Agreement with the United States (DR-CAFTA), representing an investor in a claim against a Central American government. This experience has allowed us to apply our knowledge in advising other investors and clients interested in matters related to the implementation of and compliance with the different CAFTA’s rules and procedures.

In addition, we are frequently invited by the U.S. Embassy’s Commercial Section to participate in trade missions and investment meetings to provide the general guidelines for Doing Business in Guatemala.
